Sadly no. It's randomized on every (re)start.

You have to turn the crank on the music box located on a shelf to the right. This puzzle is giving me a lot of grief. I was enjoying the game until this point. And if there are any deaf players, this totally prevents them from progressing.

Obviously there is no help coming from the developers of this game. I will think twice about buying from them again. And I will caution others about this music puzzle.

I can tell you, it's not just a lock-out for deaf players but also for those with no musical hearing like me. These kind of puzzles are not just a question of trying harder for me, I would not even know where to start. They're plainly impossible. And I'm not alone with that, even many of my friends suck at such puzzles as much as I do.

Well I am quite deaf and the music puzzle all just sounds way too alike for me to tell one tone from the next one. So for me the games ends at the music box door lock as I have no way beside luck to get past it.

I am deaf and this riddle really bugged me off. Even two good-hearing friends couldn't make it. A third friend who plays the guitar finally could help me on his first try. There really should be some kind of hints for deaf people and those without music talents.

I could not hear the melody too but I managed to open the door using "brute force" method by repeating 3 same button patterns after each reset. It took me about 15 minutes.

There is a way to get this if you are deaf or otherwise tone challenged. It's a cheat but maybe less than just looking up a solution in a guide.

There are phone apps out there that "listen" to tones and display the musical note (search for "tuners"). It is still tricky. The best way I found to do it is to play the buttons by the door one by one and write down the note letter. (You sometimes will get two buttons with the same letter.) Then go to the music box--this is the tricky part b/c it plays so fast the tuner may not be able to detect all the notes. Write down the notes the tuner displays as it "hears" the music box and determine which order to push the buttons. I was finally able to determine for sure at least 3 to 4 of the buttons by the door, compare them to what the tuner hears from the music box and guessed at the remaining two..

Good luck!

...honestly, that's really clever. I don't think that's a cheat, just a useful hint.
