so where do i get scareness in this game??
It's just my personal opinion but I hate jump scares in horror games or movies, even I love horror but in my opinion jump scares are a very cheap way to get scareness into something. But it's just a personal preference like you don't like the psycological way.
If you are lookng for a jump scare simulator this game is completly wrong for you.
This. If you say that you're not scared of psychological horror games, you're not allowing yourself the appropriate mindset to enjoy one. Jump scares are cheap. Actual horror is an art.
And I agree, psychological horror can be far more superior when done right. Case in point: SH..
I really liked Insidious because the movies were playing with your expectation about jump scares. The typical jump scare scene was build up, you were betting for the door or corner where it will happen but nothing happened. Just to go for one in a total unexpected moment.
But that bit in insidious where he's looking at the family on the sofa oh man that bit creeped the hell outa me.
Right. The horror genre is designed to play with your horomone levels, tricking your mind into thinking there is an actual threat, triggering an acute stress response. Jumpscares necessary for that or at least an expectation of them to cause anxiety. I don't believe story or visual design alone will scare anyone. It's like Edgar Allan Poe stories: dark themed literature that can be appreciated for its artistic value for sure, but honestly they aren't inducing actual fear.
