it is a horror game but a game doesnt have to have jumpscares to be scary. most of it here comes from atmospher and little details i wont spoil the game to much

There are hardly any jump scares, I think there was more than 1 but less than 5 in the whole game. But the game had a great atmosphere and I liked it as a horror game.

It's just my personal opinion but I hate jump scares in horror games or movies, even I love horror but in my opinion jump scares are a very cheap way to get scareness into something. But it's just a personal preference like you don't like the psycological way.

If you are lookng for a jump scare simulator this game is completly wrong for you.

yeah scares don't purely come from jumpscares, if anything jumpscares make things less scary because you're expecting it the entire time. Good horror comes from a good atmosphere, disturbing images, things being a little off, and the occasional jump scare

This. If you say that you're not scared of psychological horror games, you're not allowing yourself the appropriate mindset to enjoy one. Jump scares are cheap. Actual horror is an art.

I got a couple of jumpscares out of this one. Pretty creepy.

Every single horror game and horror movie has jumpscares. The problem is when they rely on them too much that it becomes tedious. However if they're used sparingly, they can be pretty good.
And I agree, psychological horror can be far more superior when done right. Case in point: SH..

I really liked Insidious because the movies were playing with your expectation about jump scares. The typical jump scare scene was build up, you were betting for the door or corner where it will happen but nothing happened. Just to go for one in a total unexpected moment.

Right. The horror genre is designed to play with your horomone levels, tricking your mind into thinking there is an actual threat, triggering an acute stress response. Jumpscares necessary for that or at least an expectation of them to cause anxiety. I don't believe story or visual design alone will scare anyone. It's like Edgar Allan Poe stories: dark themed literature that can be appreciated for its artistic value for sure, but honestly they aren't inducing actual fear.

There are no Jumpscares... but this is one of the more positive things I can say about the game.

I would also include... finding a dead body behind a booth towards the end, turning around, and Chad's there.
