The artist ,Hiromu Arakawa draws her main cast as such. Reference to Full Metal Alchemist. The main hero, Edward, looks similar to the current main hero, Arslan (albeit Edward exhibits a more playful aura as compared to Arslan - a prince).

Many of Hiromu`s works are really nice, would recommend you guys to read the manga too.
