you definitely can mod the crap out of this game. I wrote the 3D modeling tool that I used to develop the thing. You actually can edit the models using the iPad or Mac version of the tool. If there's enough interest, I'll give away some free copies of the 3D modeling tool on here. I'm limited as to how many I can give out tho by the app store ppl.
First steps to modding. Grab data.dat and rename to a .zip (copying to keep things safe). Break into the archive's vssproj files and all the textures should be in plain format (jpeg or png). The actual model data needs the aforementioned modeling tool to edit however.
