I don't get the ending.
Just ended the game. Please, someone can explain me the meaning of the final scenes? I mean, after the funeral.

The first half of the ending was changed (originally a school, now a church field.)
The second half in the asylum is the same, from what I can tell.
I tihnk it's a dialogue of a worker/observer/maybe even a manager or doctor talking to someone or a group of people about the PostalDude breaking down and going through with his killing spree.

They found him after his last breakdown after trying to shoot up the school (original) or returning to the church (Redux). As far as I can tell, that's all it is. A somewhat vague epilogue of sorts.

I'm wondering if the grave is either a family member or his lover who's death set him off on his delusional episode.

Personally, I feel like his moment at the grave is him being forced to realize the reality of what he's done, and him in "hell" (the asylum) is him deciding (if it can be called a decision) to go back into his fantasy and delusions to shield himself from what he's done.

The speach at the ending seems to sum up to; we live in an overpopulated and unhealthy society and when people go on insane murder rampages they may see themselves as the hero or a vengeful victim.

I'll have to finish it on hard sometime to see how the ending is different.
I've ended it on hard and the end is the same you described.

Maybe it's his own grave.
Just a 'maybe', though.

That's an interesting idea. So would that imply that his rampage has been the death dream or just the bit at the end, and we just don't see him kill himself after the rampage?

It could be symbolic. Maybe.

I actually did consider this after I saw the ending a few times, but so many people kept saying it was actually his dad and something about an image of a fetus that was removed post-launch. I kinda understood why they'd think that about his dad and all (i.e. POSTAL 2's particular chore) but I just never felt that way.

However, because you are a part of RWS (I'm assuming), I'm trusting that you're right about it. Is it symbolic of the series being over? I mean, maybe I'm just overthinking about it. But I do like that idea, Lat. It's very interesting and makes me think of the game a bit differently, lore/story-wise.

Lat, I think I have an idea of something that could've made the ending please those who wanted the original ending while still keeping Redux's church/field level. RWS, why not add in a couple of graves (up along the path) with flowers and vases and so on, covered, some of them faded with age (as if people have visited them often.) It would make more sense for the breakdown at the one bigger grave up top.

That laughing child sound would make it hit harder, to be honest.

I'm implying something here that is very dark, and would fit in with the game's tone while still not ruining either endings. At least, in my opinion, it can be done and still work. And all it would take is adding a bit more art to the level, and bam. Dark-ish 180-degree twist of what players were expecting, while not having to remake the original's ending. In fact, I'd say it adds onto it.

 like marking the end of the Postal Dude series?

I always figured it was his own grave, thus everything he did, didn't happen. That's the only conclusion I came up with that made the most sense to me. Hence why it says 1 Hostile, then 0 when the grave lowers.

Kinda pulls a Jacob's Ladder.

Same to me. I tought the overkill was just in his mind, a pure allucination. Like Jacob's Ladder indeed.

Hey, Weirder Wonderland here.

Do you mean the fact that the credits' image had a baby in the first POSTAL, and then got removed in Redux?

Oh, so that's where that rumor came from. Huh... I didn't even see it before.

To the "his own grave" theory: notice how the gravestone looks exactly like Dude Sr.'s grave in Postal 2. Also, the two people's hair color exactly match Postal Dude and The B1tch. So I suggest that he hallucinated his own death and then died in an asylum.
