Redux Steam FAQ
Gameplay / Content
Q: How does Redux differ from the original POSTAL?

A: Significantly. Redux is not just a polished update to the original game - it was made entirely from scratch in Unreal Engine 4, with brand new code and assets. Nothing from the original game has been re-used except for the dialogue script and some sound effects, though we have also done our best to stay faithful to the original game’s style and art direction.

Among some of the changes we’ve made is a brand new twin-stick control scheme, the new Rampage Mode, a brand new level - The Carnival, a new weapon - The Revolver, re-balanced weapons, some adjustments to the levels, better AI, a new campaign ending plus new endings for the other gameplay modes, and much more.

Q: Does this include the levels from the expansion pack?

A: Yes! In addition to the original levels, and the new Carnival level, we’ve remade the levels from the Special Delivery expansion pack as well. Not only that, but we’ve also remade the two levels from the Japanese-exclusive release of the original game - Super POSTAL. These levels are all playable in single-player, Rampage mode, or online co-op!

Q: Is there multiplayer?

A: Yes! POSTAL Redux includes both co-op and deathmatch for online play.

In co-op, up to 4 players can fight through the entire campaign together on the hardest difficulty level of them all. Even if you don’t have enough (or any) friends to play with then you can also include a team of AI bots called Morons. Be warned, though - they’re called Morons for a reason.

Deathmatch is just as simple as it sounds - up to 8 players duke it out in a selection of maps from the other game modes, to see who can score the most points. Killing a player earns you a point, while getting killed costs you a point.

Q: What is Rampage Mode?

A: Rampage Mode is a new score-based gameplay mode that completely changes the playstyle and pacing of the game. It takes place in reworked versions of the campaign levels, with different item placement and a more NPCs. You are rewarded points for kills, and multipliers for chaining your kills in quick succession, with additional bonuses for creativity and speed. This changes the game’s pace, rewarding you for finding paths through the levels that gain you the largest killstreak chains, making sure to switch up method of killing, while also collecting the weapons, ammo and health supplies that you need to keep going; all as quickly as possible for a time bonus. All of this action is accompanied by a new soundtrack that punctuating your rampage with an appropriate musical score. It is fast, it is challenging and it is exhilarating, and we at RWS consider it the core of the POSTAL Redux package. So give it a try!

Q: Where can I get the soundtrack?

A: You can currently listen to the POSTAL Redux Soundtrack on our YouTube channel. There is also a free DLC download that contains it, along with various wallpapers.

Q: Can I customize my character?

A: The Postal Dude can be customized by having his coat color changed to one of many different choices. Though if you tire of Postal Dude himself, there is also a secret way to change your character to someone who is Not Important...

Any changes to your character will be applied across all game modes, and reflected in online multiplayer.

Technical Stuff
Q: Will Redux be coming out for Mac?

A: Hopefully one day, but we have no ETA on it.

Q: Does Redux support 32-bit systems?

A: Unfortunately, no. We’ve tried putting out a 32-bit build in the past, but it didn’t turn out very well. So, for now, POSTAL Redux is only supported in 64-bit systems.

Q: What screen resolutions / aspect ratios does Redux support?

A: Redux features full-screen, windowed and borderless-windowed support for a variety of resultions in 16:9 and 16:10 widescreen, and even in 21:9 ultra widescreen. The game, however, does not currently support 4:3 aspect ratios.

Q: Any framerate caps in place?

A: You can toggle a 30fps or 60fps cap, if so you desire, but you can also turn the cap off.

Q: My game broken! Please help fix it!

A: Oh damn! We’re sorry that you’re having issues, and we definitely want to help you sort them out! So if you stop by the Support section, which we also keep a very close eye on, and report your problem there, will do our best to help you fix it:
