About the ending
SPOILERS AND STUFF

I have a theory based on the ending you get on hard mode. In case you don't know, the ending involves the postal dude going to a church most likely ready to slaughter more innocent people until the landscape becomes more hellish and you hear laughing. The dude then comes across a funeral only to soon have a mental breakdown.

What if the dude was in hell the entire game? Yes this does sound like a cheap theory but the ending really made me think that. I mean what if the dude died a while ago and this is all taking place in his mind. The loading screen pictures like the outskirts shows a humanoid being with glowing eyes, possibly a demon. Same goes for the trailer park. The demon could be a watcher of his own personal hell and is forcing him to live these events.

I also have another theory that kinda is the same thing as the first. So everything in Postal actually happend and hundreds of people actually died. But what if once the dude actually got to the air base, died, then was sent to hell otherwise known as "The End." The demon then un-posesses him and leaves the dude to realize his fate.

but thats just a theory

a graem thery.

tl:dr: The dude is actually in hell and none of this ever happened. Or this was a reality and The End is actually the dude being sent to hell

It's been speculated that the funeral was his own, and the two people standing there was his son, Postal Dude Jr, and his son's wife, The ♥♥♥♥♥. That Postal Dude in the first was actually Postal 2 Dude's father.

It would make sense for the fact in hard mode, the home diary quote is "Moving to "Paradise" was a tragic mistake. People here are... sick. I hear gunshots, screams after dark."
And as we know, Postal Dude Sr is confirmed to be dead in Postal 2 where you have to "send a gift" for his grave.

Since in the ending he was locked in an insane asylum this whole time shouldn't mean he was in hell, it means that the future just walked right past him and he hallucinated his own funeral before he woke up being tortured by the asylum workers for whatever reason.

The grave in Postal 2 says 1996. The diary on OG postal is dated 1997. That doesn't line up . . .

Well, a theory is that Postal Dude Sr died a long time ago and maybe it was hell but if the shootings are real, it still doesn't make sense that Postal Dude would have just broken out of the asylum and lost his insanity because that would screw with the plot.

I still believe Postal 1 Dude is Postal 2 Dude's father but I still wonder why the grave said 1996 in Postal 2.

Looking at the hard/nightmare mode diary entrys perhaps Postal Dude is the only sane person left as everybody else attacks him for seemingly no reason and is forced to defend himself leading him to believe it is some sort of rage virus infecting the towns people.

Maybe there is some truth to this as in Postal 2 at the start of the week everything is relatively calm (As far as the Postal universe goes) and then towards mid week people start turning hostile
and crazy and killing each other even without Dudes provocation, and eventually esculating to the events of Paradise Lost.

I don't know what the ending scene with the coffin is signifying but i think the events of Postal 1 is documenting the first encounter with this "Postal Virus" that turns people hostile and unreasonable with the Dude(s) being seemingly immune to it.

Perhaps after purging his town of these infected crazy people, he was arrested and treated as a mass murderer and put in an insane asylum after trying to explain his story. Instead of being treated as a hero which he rightly should have been.

well, nobody was really attacking him, only the police were because he was waving around a gun, then some other civillians came to attack postal dude for the award of vigilantism, and some others so that they can defend themselves

But reading his diary entrys, notably the truckstop one it says "Diary: Worst fears confirmed. Group of lunatics tried to invade my home.
Must get to truckstop and sheriff, see if anyone there can help me."

To me it sounds like they drew first blood and dude was just defending himself.
Maybe its just delusions of a madman to justify his killing spree.. or maybe he is telling the truth?
