It would make sense for the fact in hard mode, the home diary quote is "Moving to "Paradise" was a tragic mistake. People here are... sick. I hear gunshots, screams after dark."
And as we know, Postal Dude Sr is confirmed to be dead in Postal 2 where you have to "send a gift" for his grave.
Since in the ending he was locked in an insane asylum this whole time shouldn't mean he was in hell, it means that the future just walked right past him and he hallucinated his own funeral before he woke up being tortured by the asylum workers for whatever reason.
I still believe Postal 1 Dude is Postal 2 Dude's father but I still wonder why the grave said 1996 in Postal 2.
Maybe there is some truth to this as in Postal 2 at the start of the week everything is relatively calm (As far as the Postal universe goes) and then towards mid week people start turning hostile
and crazy and killing each other even without Dudes provocation, and eventually esculating to the events of Paradise Lost.
I don't know what the ending scene with the coffin is signifying but i think the events of Postal 1 is documenting the first encounter with this "Postal Virus" that turns people hostile and unreasonable with the Dude(s) being seemingly immune to it.
Perhaps after purging his town of these infected crazy people, he was arrested and treated as a mass murderer and put in an insane asylum after trying to explain his story. Instead of being treated as a hero which he rightly should have been.
But reading his diary entrys, notably the truckstop one it says "Diary: Worst fears confirmed. Group of lunatics tried to invade my home.
Must get to truckstop and sheriff, see if anyone there can help me."
To me it sounds like they drew first blood and dude was just defending himself.
Maybe its just delusions of a madman to justify his killing spree.. or maybe he is telling the truth?
Play the campaign again on hard or nightmare, it will totally change your perspective. :P
