Does this game have the school?
I want to know.

Edit: I swear I didn't post this because I'm a psycho. I just wanted to see if they made it scarier since there was so much mystery around how the scene played out in the OG. And now we have more mystery in how the ending plays out in the new one, with some people thinking he goes to Church after the school, and others thinking that both happen at once,

I'm not being a fanboy as much as I see a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who doesn't know when to admit he's wrong. And when proven wrong by the dev himself he doesn't respond back to the dev but a fan who tells him to shut up. Not arguing back is also not a very good argument.
telling to shut the ♥♥♥♥ up as an answer for a text is an excelent argument, bro..

I am not wrong, arguing with this dev is useless as he did similar as you before, he answered a 984729 lines of text about the school ending with a shoddy single line answer.. You should try a bit harder, fanboy ;)

To each their own and all that, but I personally don't see how a "church shooting" level would be a twist. It certainly adds nothing to the story since the entire game up to that point has been a rampage anyways. I kind of prefered the endings they had in redux since it actually added to the story while also leaving you to figure out what it means for yourself.

It feels more fitting for this kind of game. Something inbetween fight club and american psycho.

edit: I do kind of like the idea of him confronting himself. On normal and easy, you could be the demon confronting the "weak" version of himself while on hard you could play the "postal dude" himself confronting his demon or shadow self or whatever.

On that note though, I think it may work better without having dialog or "choices" and all that. Could ruin that psychotic disconected tone if you start reading dialog boxes in game or getting story exposition from people.

I'm not saying a church shooting level would be a twist, that's just what I was expecting when the level start, and then I found out you can't go inside some I was wrong to begin with.

And, I'm not saying they should add choices, dialog (or, more detailed journals, to my mind) maybe. I'm glad you like my demon-confrontation idea. But there are numerous ways to add in more story, it doesn't have to be a character talking to the Dude, the Dude's mind isn't all there and so holding a conversation wouldn't seem like an easy thing to do. However, I'm sure someone can find out an interesting way to add in just a bit more story and lore into the game.

I'm also sure if people on here discuss the possibilities enough, we may find out an interesting way ourselves that maybe even RWS might like and could put in the game. But then again, maybe I'm just a bit optimistic about that idea in of itself.

Also, (sorry for typing so much out.) I brought up the potential AO rating-idea because it's the only obsticle I've heard of possibly happening. If the original can get an M rating with it's ending, I'm sure they COULD get away with that as some sort of backdrop. But it's obvious the original ending done up again in such detail could cause the ESRB to frown a bit more.

As for the church thought, I honestly have no idea what a rating-response to that would be. I just assumed AO because it's not something I think's been done in a published game like this, although I could be very wrong. I don't know what would cause this game to peak into an AO.
And honestly, I don't think RWS wants to find out. Although, they could just sell the AO version on Steam, and an M-recut on PS4, but that might be a bit tedious in the end.

Yeah, the endings in this game add a bit more to what's happening to the dude.

I (as respectfully as I can) disagree. But they are 'alright' endings, just a tad mediocre. Again though, opinions will differ regardless of what any of us think of them. The same could be said if the endings were changed too.

Off-topic, but I know Destructive Creations wanted a church in Hatred, only to find out it is apparently illegal over there to portray churches being destroyed in media.

You bring up a good point, honestly. I'd be curious how the ESRB reacts to a chruch being destroyed. Especially in POSTAL's context.
Illegal where?

How is simply stating that instead of admitting you're wrong you argue with people who side with the dev. If you think you know better prove it and we won't insult you. No one is free of criticism. Do so or forever keep your trap shut.

Well I think they wanted to stay true to the original with the original levels but if I remember right, I think they said they are doing new levels so maybe we will see more store and lore worked into the levels.

Like I said, punisher did it although it was "mobsters" so it's hard to say. It's not that it's not done because it's banned or AO material or something, I think it would just be hard to justify. There's a reason games like Hatred are not the norm. Psychopathic mindless violence towards innocent people is kind of a niche market.

Again, why would doing the original ending offend anyone especially the ESRB? The game didn't let you kill the kids, so there's really ntohing offensive about the original ending. That's why I don't really understand how that idea keeps popping up.

Poland. I personally don't think the ESRB would care. Punisher (yes the M rated version) had you slaughtering people in a church at a funeral. Yes he says they are all guilty but you are still shooting unarmed helpless people who are trying to escape and pleading for mercy.

The only thing they had to change to get it the M rating was making you lose points for killing during interrogations (very annoying since the character would absolutely kill people with his interrogation tools) and adding a black and white filter and sometimes even panning the camera away during interrogation kills. Oddly enough, "special kills" are untouched. The esrb isn't some christian group trying to censor games, I don't think they care if a game has a shootout in a church.

You want an argument, yet you refuse to even provide the proof the dev asked for to back up your own argument.

I may not agree with what he says, but I'll fight for the death his right to say it.

Then again, reddit exists, so he could still say it even if he gets banned.

"Look are you going to sign this stupid petition, or will it be your surviving family members?"
