How to tackle Train Station?

I need help and strategies on how to tackle the Train Station solo on Nightmare difficulty.

From what I know, 4 grenadiers will flank me at the same time and moving in any direction will bait the gunners in

Depends on how many weapons and ammo you were able to carry over from earlier levels. But generally what you'd want to do is bait out the NPCs that are closest to you first by standing at the top of the map and shooting. You don't want to be a stationary target though, so instead of standing still just keep running left and right while staying at the top border of the map.

Treat the map like it's divided into 3 sections, and you can't advance to the next section until you clear the previous one completely.

Another key tip: Take your time. Don't run through the map like a maniac, don't rush the hostiles, especially ones that have a Shotgun. If you notice a guy running towards you, just start running away but keep shooting at him - this will give you some extra time to kill a hostile without taking much damage. If you have a Revolver, use it for hostiles with Shotguns and Scatterguns, they usually do most damage if you get up close to them so just use a Revolver from a safe distance.
