The game is unplayable due to persistent crashes in various spots, which is unfortunate as it looks like a decent game.

Beautiful and somber game with some tough boss fights. Highly recommend.

I've seen clips with more fluidity than I had in my playground, so my advise might not even be a pertinent one.

But here it is :

This game SATURATE with bugs. It's unplayable.
Past a certain point it simply become impossible to progress.

I want to like this game, the ideas are interesting, the universe is attractive, and it would clearly have been enjoyble if it as receive proper attention.

But no. The progression is slow, the movement speed is slow. You spend an eternity crossing every single biome. You discover a new bug every 10 minutes. You have no proper informations and end up lost most of the time. The combat difficulty change between "uncomfortable and unbalanced" to "Instant Oblivion".
i had to restart several times, and erasing two saves and sacrificed a goat to avoid more crashs.

After playing a bit, you quickly have the choice beetwen two remaining boss fights, their defeat being necessary to progress further.

What do you choose :

-Immortal Kraken with seemingly unlimited HPs, able to parry most of your shots with his tentacles long before they reach it's invulnerable body. It can also hide behing an ink cloud, who nullify all damages.

OR

-A swarm of glitchy sharks escorting two giants megalodons, all of them having 3 times your speed, and the strength to kill you in two hits. You can barely follow their movements, the arena is pitch black.

Do not touch that game. Its worth neither your time, neither your money.

This game is close to being good, but ends up being a mixed bag filled with flaws. The positives are primarily the presentation, the story, some music tracks and the exploration. You can see that the developers were passionate about the game, although there are still quite a few flaws. The game is a "metroidvania" that is set underwater that focusses mainly on boss fights. The upgrades are quite decent and fun to collect, there are also some good secrets to find. But the bosses, which are the biggest part of this game, are the biggest issue. The first issue in my opinion is the large health pool of many of the bosses, making the fights longer than they need to be. the low damage you do is especially annoying wit little upgrades, where your attack speed is still slow. Another issue is the waiting between attacks you have to do with some bosses, where they are invulnerable or you wait for it to appear again. This waiting time adds up to unneeded waiting time, with little to no player input. The second phase of the last boss has tons of waiting time, with little to no fear of death if you got enough upgrades. But in my opinion the worst offender with the bosses is the unskippable intro cutscenes. This game can be challenging and its fine that you can expect to die to the bosses a few times, even the good ones. But having to watch these cutscenes everytime gets super grading and annoying. to make it even worse, the checkpoints before some bosses are some distance away and you have to slowy steer your way back to the cutscene trigger to have another shot at fighting. Lastly i had some crash issues, which often went hand in hand with the boss death animations, my computer isnt amazing but for a game this old i feel that this shouldnt happen this often. All that being said if the game is on sale and you like the presentation of the game it might still be worth buying. ive beaten the campaign once with all upgrades, but i will likely never play this again.

Decent enough game, actually not that bad to be honest.

Sure I was frustrated with the gameplay and tough bosses, but overall the experience has been quite nice.
The pixel art is awesome and music is great.

After checking out the indie developers YCJY Games, I actually played another of their games "POST VOID".
Another pixel masterpiece. This indie team has skill and passion in crafting unique experiences.

Aquatic Adventure is a charming metroidvania.
If you stick with it, the game is decently fun.

The vibe is immaculate. It's not perfect gameplay and can be a little frustrating at times, but was exactly the right length to communicate a very specific apocalyptic yet peaceful mood.
