HR Getting the key from Adam

Can anyone help me getting the key out of his room? I've tried way too many times, turning on the light does nothing, he just turns it off within 5 seconds and kills me.
I found the key to his safe, but the safe doesnt open once unlocked.
I feel like im missing something, and turning on lights then racing back to his office doesnt work.

You need to trap him inside one of the rooms, which can be done by manipulating the card reader mechanism. If you need any more info let me know.

Ahh thank you, felt like I was missing something.
Game is great btw, going to start speedrunning it after some routing.

I must be doing something wrong. I have him in the room and I have done EVERYTHING with that card reader. Nothing seems to work and nothing seems to lock him in the room.

i managed to get his key without locking him in the room, but i tell ya, its a very, VERY hairy situation.

turning on the lights and racing back to his office is part of it, but you have to also race from his office to the switch in the first place, atleast thats what i did, then you just quickly unscrew that panel, grab key, and translocate back into the vent, odds are he'll come right around the corner as you get that 4th screw undone so you might have to repeat it one more time.

IIRC, without having the game running in front of me: The issue might be that you are cutting both powers switches. You should lock the door, then turn off only the card reader. If you turn off the power on the master swich the door can be opened, since the locking mechanism is now off too.
