I'm not sure what Boss Monster is like, because I haven't played it, but this game does have its own boss monsters (small letters)! :P

I also don't know what Boss Monster is, but this game somehow reminded me of Soul Nomad and the World Eaters game for PS2. It was one of my favorite games. I can't even explain what's so similar between them, maybe squad based combat and ability to have a set of different squads and customize them. Still I had a nice nostalgic feeling when playing this game.

Isn't there a digital version of Boss Monster by now? I think I saw something like that mentioned on BGG.

Ah, Soul Nomad, that game was neat, obviously inspired by the Ogre Battle series. If only my PS2 hadn't died.. Might be worth starting over on an emulator someday, still have the disc around here somewhere.
