Guide to Cheating (changing reputation, karma and much more)
Press SHIFT and O to bring up the cool hidden console that barely anyone knows about.
To set Reputation to something, write in
reputation = ___
It's the same for council karma, only it's "karma" instead of "reputation" in the code.
For girls' stats, things get a bit more complicated. If I wanted to change Thais's Social skill, for example, I'd type in this:
thais_.social = ___
This works the same for all girls and stats, just change "thais" to another girls name and "charm" to another stat.
Keep in mind the underscore after every girls' name, if you don't keep that in it won't work.
Skills are Social, Intimidation, Stealth and Observation.
If you want to change loyalty instead, change the skill to "loyalty".
To set the training points to a certain value, do
training_room.total_points = ___
That's all I've found so far! :P

I knew someone would eventually notice that's enabled. :)

I kept holding off on admitting that cheating was possible because if people can cheat their way out of trouble, they're less likely to tell me when a case actually IS too difficult and needs adjusting.

(What *I* most commonly use it for is to manually place cases into the queue so I can test new stuff when it's added. However, giving you guys instructions on how to do that would take a bit of time and require knowing all the case names. Someday, but not today.)

Funny thing is, I actually discovered this through a post Spiky made in the beta discussion over on the forums. Discovering the actual names for these (especially the training points one) took a bit of code exploring though.

I actually had a bit of trouble with a case just a few minutes ago. It was this student having trouble in japanese, searched her room, and her ♥♥♥ book was empty (no notes), stalked her to the gazebo where her diary was and in it it said that she wanted to teach her parents a lesson. I detentioned her, and she said "Good, punish me!", so then I harrassed her and still no result, got stumped and she eventually failed the japanese class :(

So, what do you think is happening in that case?

(This case is not broken, but if I don't know why you're stumped I don't know if there are other clues I can add. So I'm trying to see if I can follow your line of thinking.)

There were other actions available to perform on that character beyond question, stalk, harass, and detention. I'm trying to see if there was a reason you didn't use them. :D:

Well, i was thinking something like "Hmm.. ok, i know your plan, i read your diary! with this, i should be able to harrass you or i'll tell your parents!", so i tried that to no result. I'll load a previous save, but I'm pretty sure i tried all the options :O. I'll get back to you :P

EDIT: Ahh, suspending her did the trick, hmm... that was weird, i thought everything bad would be benefitial to her plans (then on the next week, some smugglers got caught in caverns and game over :( haha, guess i'll start another run)

Thanks! I didn't even know there were cheats on this one. Then again, I should have figured, the only Hanako game I haven't found cheats for so far is Cute Knight Kingdom.

I have been finding certain things too hard, particularly just in completing overarching things (such as the Steam Pipes) while also juggling the 1/week and then 2/week tasks (which just get harder when Thais quits, and if the traitor hadn't been loyal to me I can't imagine having to go with just 3 crew). So I think I'll be setting everyone's stats to 800 or so just to save myself the headache.

So this is hideous necroposting, it's been like nine years, but I've just stumbled on this from the search, and I'm writing this for those who are like me.
Yes, the stats cheat works with loyalty, too.
Had problems winning the boss fight. Entered thais_.loyalty = 30, and she didn't leave me.

I'm glad I found this thread, I'm currently going ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy over the fact that everytime I get a romance scene with any of the characters I get hit with an amount of cases that would put me on an FBI watchlist the next week after
