Error message: "User lib not found"
I just purchased and installed the game from Steam. However, when I double-click on either the desktop shortcut or the exe file in the Steam folder I get the message: "User lib not found" - I have never received a message like this before so I am not sure what it means. I am trying to run the game on a Dell desktop under Windows 7, with all the latest update.

pls run a file integrity check first.

if that does not work: try to locate the user32.dll which should be in a windows sub folder. copy it into the game folder.

if that does not work pls post the names of all .dll files in the main game folder.

Thank you for your quick reply. I ran the file integrity check and the game files passed. I copied the user32.dll file from the Windows subfolder into the game folder. Unfortunately I still get the same error message.
The dll files in the game folder are: BlitzStream.dll - steam_api.dll - and now user32.dll in the main game folder. I did not find any dlls in any of the games subfolders.

the file is named blitzsteam.dll instead of ...stream, right?

do you have directx installed? if yes, are the relevant dll's of dx7.1 registered to be used from everywhere? to be sure you could try to copy the dx3d*.dll in the game folder.

did you try to start the game as admin directly from the folder, without steam?

Thank you for your reply.
1. Yes the file is named Blitz.Stream.dll, not Steam.dll

2.I have DirectX version 11 installed. On some of the games I installed from Steam the first time I ran the game their was a check for DirectX, but that did not happen with this game. I have been trying to find which folder DirectX is installed in to try and copy the dx3d.dll into the game folder, but I have not been able to find it.

3. I did try to run the game as admin directly from the game folder, but got the same error message.

I have also tried installing and reinstalling the game from Steam several times.

I have finally found where the d3d dlls are stored (under hidden files). All of the d3d.dlls in the system32 folder are later than directx 7. Those listed are:
D3dx9_24.dll thru D3dx9_43.dll -- D3dx10_33.dll thru Dedx10_43.dll -- and D3dx11_42 and _43.dll. There was also a d3dx10.dll which I copied to the game folder but still got the same error message.

According to the dxdiag toll all of my DirectX drivers are up to date and working correctly
ok, could you pls try to download a dx 7.1 dll, or better try to install dx 7.1; you should find this via google. normally steam should handle this automatically but seems not to work here. the final dll (d3d.dll)
should be available then.

I found a website tha I could could download DirectX 7.1 from. However, when I tried to install it I received an error message that DirectX 7.1 was not compatible with the version Windows 7 installed on by Dell desktop (just the Home version). I am not sure what to do at this point and may have to remove what seems to be an excellent game from my machine
as last attempt you could try to rename the copied d3dx9 file to d3d.dll.

maybe there is some time within the next weeks to bring the game to dx9. will post an update then if so!
