The Seven Years War (1756-1763)

The Seven Years War (1756-1763)

Best concept in PC wargaming
The Seven Years War and 18th century warfare for me is my favourite period for wargaming. This game is by far the greatest with regards to the concept, setting, design, mechanics etc. Combining everything in this game with Grand Tactician Civil War would be pretty epic.

Its unfortunate that this game wasn't ironed out and finished.

Anyone know of any upcoming 18th century wargames in development or in the conceptual phase that needs funding or support?

If you're into tabletop gaming, I strongly recommend that you check out Imperial Struggle. It was created by the same people who made Twilight Struggle at GMT Games. Rather than modelling the Cold War, it's Britain vs. France from 1697-1789. I would love to see this game (or some iteration of it) ported to the PC.

Interesting. Thanks :)
https://www.ug1775.com/ Take a look at this. If you've not played an Ultimate General game I can highly recommend.

This is the first time that I heard of this game, thanks!
Take a look at Gettysburg, Civil War and Age of Sail. All by GameLabs. The main developer started out modding Total War games. Darth Vadar.

Yep, UG 1775 looks very interesting.

Age of Sail would have been even better with a dynamic campaign.

Personally I am a fan of a real-time campaign and a real-time tactical wargame which combines the two together.

Napoleon 1813 started it for me back in 1999 with real-time campaign and battles, supply depots, army organisation, detailed army orders, etc. Just a shame it was such a bug ridden mess.

If you don't mind turn-based games, check out Wars of Succession. While it's not perfect, it's the only PC game I'm aware of that covers the War of the Spanish Succession. There's also a fan mod that fixes some things and opens up other areas, like the colonial boxes:
