Server Connection Problem?

My friends and I decided to give this game a try, but after the tutorial we cant connect to eachother to play a match. The game just constantly says "waiting for server". 10/10. Truly a $15 experience.

Does this happen when you invite each other?

I have the same issue, It just hangs on "Waiting for the server to respond"

Yeah some friends and myself played... was a terrible experience, out of the 1 hour of game time we got 10 minutes of play....

Have the same problem, occasionally we're able to invite each other. However even when it does work the game kicks me about 3 minutes into an online game.

We've been using the Eastern US server in case that helps.

It was working perfectly yesterday, but tried this afternoon and tonight with the same results, either failing to invite or getting kicked a few minutes in. Hope you can resolve whatever's going on with the servers soon. Love the game!

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help trouble shoot (send logs etc...)

I imagine it would be a lot of work but being able to rejoin a game in progress when you're kicked would be a great addition. Also be good for friends who want to join a game in progress.

At this point, your netcode is clearly more broken than functional. You may just want to start from scratch and relaunch once you have something functional.

It seems like the problem is when you start to make your lobby public (by getting into matchmaking, for example), then private and then invite someone IF you have the option Best Server chosen in your settings as the server you want to play in.

We are working on a fix, but if you want to get rid of that issue before the update, you can just change the Best Server for the one with the lowest ping on your settings.

By the way, every test of fix for this problem in particular is being uploaded to the Beta branch so anyone can try it out. You can access our beta by going to Out of Space preferences on steam, clicking on the Betas tab and chosing the beta branch. It has the password box, but you can just leave it empty, since our beta is open.

Unless simply starting a game makes the lobby public I don't think we ever tried connecting with a public lobby. I just immediately invited my friend as soon as the screen to add players comes up. I wonder if the public lobby part isn't actually necessary to trigger the error?

In any case I'll try setting up a match with the server explicitly set to Eastern US next chance I get.

Ok tried out both the beta and the server setting fix. We didn't run into any issues with invites but still getting kicked a few minutes into every game and also experienced some lag (buttons not registering for a second at a time). I've noticed that just before being kicked buttons won't work for me as well.

Tracked the disconnect problem down to an issue on my end. A slightly faulty Ethernet cable, just broken enough to cause tiny split second network outages. Played two long matches with no issues. Looking forward to playing more!

Hey Castlron, did you get the chance to test the fix? It is very likely you'll no longer have any problems with inviting friends.
