For that, no, it's not focused on Gameplay record.
It's a screenshot service that uploads images to imgur without you having to do it yourself. Puush is a good alternative.

What video card do you have?

Both AMD and Nvidia have excellent screen recorders built into their driver suites (Plays.TV for AMD, ShadowPlay for Nvidia).

I am planning to make a youtube channel soon too, I have decided to use OBS for video recording, audacity for commentary recording, and lightworks for editing. I have heard that xsplit and frapps are worth looking into as well, if you want to look at those. All of those are free to use btw.

Don't get fraps. I got it and it was the biggest waste if money. Locks your FPS to 30 while recording, mic audio is peaking the whole time and it makes some games unplayable. The best recording software is DxTory in my opinion since you can have two audio channels (good for fixing audio in editing) very good quality videos and no FPS limit, but you need good hardware and a lot of storage space. As for xsplit I have never used it but it is mainly used for livestreaming.

You may want to upgrade. Recording gameplay takes up a lot of resources and if you don't have a fast CPU, GPU and HDD then your going to have problems.

And can make gifs (albeit not good for games) and lets you have clipboard upload, and other hosters than just imgur and and and ;D

I've been recording some desktop stuff (videos and what not) with it, it's worked nicely for that, but I havent tried it while running a game, and i dont know how well it would handle large files / long videos.
