How to not show on Steam status?

I have Share X set to start when Windows boots. Because I use it all the time, not just for games. The problem is, when Share X starts, then my Steam status shows "playing Share X" even though I'm not necessarily on Steam or even on my PC at all. I don't want Share X to show status on Steam.

Since the new Steam Beta, whenever restarting Steam, ShareX is shown as running.

Removing ShareX from Startup and adding shortcut of this .exe -

 C:\Steam\steamapps\common\ShareX\ShareX\ShareX.exe 

to this folder

 C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp 

fixes the issue.

Dont forget to close ShareX and open it from path above for it to now show "in app" in your current session

Oops forgot to mention that after typing this message and relogging my steam it magically worked for me lol. So sorry for not informing before.

Its the opposite for me. I have it checked and it dosent show up in my steam status

I'm having the issue where I put my PC into sleep overnight, then when I turn it on the next day ShareX will be active in my status. I can fix it by closing it and opening again, but it didn't do this before.

I think it's an issue with the Steam beta, I've had the same issue with it randomly saying I'm "in-app" too since the update on the 16th or 17th. I've just posted feedback in the beta group https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/3/3409803709053937752/

Well yeah, it seems to be the beta. Cuz I've said after rebooting steam it was gone but sometimes when I turn on my PC it's showing it on my status and sometimes it's not.

Launch from Steam\steamapps\common\ShareX\ShareX\Sharex.exe works for me.

I'm not on Steam beta, yet I have the issue. Fixes by closing sharex and opening it again or by rebooting steam, but after some time it's showing in-game status again. Never had any issues for years, yet I managed to spend 40+ hours "in-game" for the last couple of days.
