Some games cannot capture screenshot ingame with hot key but will work manually

Specifically I noticed this on Total War Rome remastered.

I cant use my usual hotkey for screen capture but if I exit game click on sharex in taskbar it will load game to quickly capture. any setting I can change to get it to work?

Try running ShareX as admin. If game is running as admin then ShareX also must be run as admin for some hotkeys to work in game, such as Print Screen.

No difference for me. The game uses DX11 so shouldnt be an issue. I have no idea why.

And as I just discovered the game does not let me use my media keys on keyboard I am guessing it is just a lock the game wont allow shortcuts or something.
