Wondering if you guys could help out with this.

Every screenshot I take is black with only the white mouse cursor.

Yes, I've reinstalled before. It solves the issue for a few days then it stops working. Not a very permanent solution.

My GPU drivers are up to date so that shouldn't be an issue. I use Nvidia.

If there's anything else I can provide let me know.

Getting screen capture from fullscreen games which using directx/opengl not supported in ShareX. Only softwares which specially made to hook directx/opengl games to capture/record can do it. But if you make game borderless fullscreen then it is possible to screen capture them. Because game then not directly renders to GPU but instead let Windows do it. That way ShareX can capture them.

If you are getting black screenshots even in desktop then reason is different. Few anti virus softwares have anti screen capture feature which not allows ShareX to capture from screen and because of this you could be getting black screen.

I should've been more clear. Yes, the issue is on desktop. I usually use steams built in feature for screenshots ingame. On desktop I prefer sharex for its simplicity of use and abundunce of features. I disabled my AV (webroot secure anyware) and the issue persists. Here's an example http://i.imgur.com/sil1IDF.png

Webroot users keep reporting me they getting black screen, even when they disable it still blocks. So I can't do anything about it. You should talk with Webroot developers.

Avast also makes ShareX black screens.
Just put it on Silent/gaming mode and voilá... issue solved.

there are some net banking protection solutions which prevents softwares from taking screenshots. Like IBM Rapport.
those were introducted after google chrome disabled support for java applets.

look for those also as the source of your problems.
