Pong 2 -player
Hi. I'm holding a Pong competition in the school I teach in. Two players have finished joint first in games against the computer. I want to allow them to play against each other using two wired xbox controllers. But I just can't find any way to make it work. You can format two controllers for two players but I can't make one controller control the left paddle and the other control the right paddle. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance.

Not sure if that would be the best idea, but you could try Joy2Key to bind one controller to keypresses. The question is, how compares using the analogue stick to the digital keypresses. But it worth a try until two-controller-support is fixed/added.

Uhm. You should check out the stickied topic about the 1.0.2 beta update. Try that and see if it works for you. According to the devs, it should, if you have two xbox controllers.

so I got it working by following some of the above advice. I used two Xbox one controllers. I held down the centre button while plugging in the second controller. The only strange thing was that it would only work properly if it was the controller controlling the right paddle that started the game (pressing start button). If other person pressed start it wouldn't work. I didn't have to do anything else and needless to say the students had a blast. They were also spectacularly BAD. Guess countless hours of Fifa and cod really don't improve your strategic thinking after all!

Pong was meant to be played with a spinner. If you have access to two trackballs, those can function perfectly as spinners and will improve the experience exponentially.

The controllers are mimicking 1P and 2P start buttons. P1 controller has the 1P start button and the P2 controller has the 2P start button. You can use the start button on the screen by clicking it with the mouse (or else press "2" on the keyboard if you prefer). You can set the controller to absolute mode (Options->Controls) for variety. Also, you could use two Steam controllers and use the virtual paddle control it provides.
