My controller won't work now with the game.
At best I can get the menu to use my controller, but in game it won't respond even with using big picture.

My controller works in other games but not in this one Atari 5200 or any of the 'dlc' Arcade games, what gives?

Do the control mappings look correct in the UI? (Don't use the Managed controller mode of Steam.)

You mean Big Picture Mode and the Overlay? I can't get it to even see my controller if I do that.

Also XBOXCE doesn't seem to work either.

Before the DLC was added it worked fine...

Any suggestions?

Are the Atari 5200 and new racing games limited to mouse only as I can play the racing games with my mouse, I haven't tried the Atari 5200 games but wonder if that's the case with them as well?

If you're using a controller, you may want to disable controller support in your Steam settings.

If I do it won't recognize the controller, I'm not using an XINPUT Controller.

There was the potential for the controller config to become corrupt. We've just issued an update to help with that. However, the game does require XInput controls.

If you are still encountering issues, check to ensure you have the latest recommended control mapping installed.

From what I'm gathering after some trial and error, big picture mode can use controllers as the steam controller they just discontinued.

For example the Sonic racing games required xinput controllers but thanks to big picture generic controllers will work.

I've been playing this bundle that way but after buying the dlc, only the original games would read the controller. I am trying to make profiles for the games, but it's tedious to say the least.

Still a few hours of work is worth the future enjoyment.

There is a control mapping for all these games. You should be able to find it as the recommended control set for the game. It's possible you didn't import it automatically because you had the old, pre-DLC configuration imported...?

Its possible it was corrupted. I think you mentioned the possibility it was corrupted and that issue was addressed.

I've just been trying to figure out what happened as after I purchased the DLC, it was quite a shock to have issues pop up.

Thanks for being so helpful and kind to us users. Many Devs/Publishers make forums and don't post squat. I really am happy to pick up DLC ASAP from people like you.

If you are NOT using the Steam Controller, disable all controller supports in Steam settings. That should fix any controller issues.

Actually Steam makes the game think my controller is a Steam Controller. That is how big picture behaves.

What does this even mean? Installed? What is there to install?

Edit: My controller is an XInput controller and worked previously.

I'm having the same issues. No response. The UI recognizes the controller fine. Keys are mapped to the defaults they've always been mapped to. I can press Start to start games sometimes, but no D Pad, joystick, or button response. Verifying the integrity of the cache didn't fix anything (didn't imagine it would though). If I try to change the mapping in settings, I can use the controller to navigate the UI including selecting which mapping to change, but as soon as it's ready for me to press a button to change it, it doesn't recognize I am pressing a button on my controller. I don't use Big Picture mode or anything like that, just the default Steam UI.

I do not use the Steam controller.

What controller are you using?

It's a ZD-V+ USB controller (a PS3 style controller).

Like yours, it worked in the past but now it doesn't. It works fine for everything else.
