The first difference can be applied to any character such as pootis bird. Also what's wrong with having recognizable characters?
The second difference is debatable. it could be a content farm or a guy who doesn't want to keep people waiting and uploads parts of the episodes as shorts before making them the full episode.
And the third difference can apply to Half-Life itself. It doesn't make sense how aliens from a another world named Xen invade earth after a "residence cascade". This can apply to a lot of other media. Best example is Madness Combat would you consider madness combat brainrot because the plot doesn't make sense?

Skibidi toilet is still extremely recognisable even in the most distinctive communities from Half-Life 2 or even Source-1 engine games. There are a lot of channels that are a cash cow. Singing toilets fighting cameras and speakers, yes.

Skibidi Toilet, and all this type of derivative content always existed on the internet, like Newgrounds animation parodies from the 2000s made in Adobe flash, or even in gmod animations themselves (YTP's and Machinimas also count). Something like Skibidi Toilet isn't really new and essence, the difference is that these people grew older and now that they see the younger generations liking the same thing they'll be like "oh my god, this is terrible, they're corrupting gen z/alpha", but when you touch in the brainrot they consumed back in the 2000s and 2010s internet they will try to defend it due to nostalgic and emotional appeal, specifically claiming that "the internet back then was different".
I'm not saying that things like Skibidi Toilet are necessarily "good" or "bad", much less that these older internet content that somewhat lines itself with our current conception of "Brainrot".
