fun custom game modes to play solo?

Gmod Stranded was fun for a while. it was something I could easily play on my own and I love survival type modes.

now I'm looking for more of a shooter based gamemodes where NPCs spawn naturally, or any other survival type modes would be welcomed as well.

any good recommendations?

Horde is pretty good. Its similar to Killing Floor where you have multiple classes to level up and fight hordes of zombies.

There's a COD Zombies-esque gamemode called NZombies but I don't know much about that one.

i'll give it a go, thanks! does progress carry over between sessions? or will I have to start from the ground up every time?

Progress carries over between sessions, yes. Even if you uninstall and reinstall, it'll still save your levels.
