Cant Add Addons

Can someone help me I download Gmod from somewhere else and I cant add addons

obviously the workshop isnt going to work if you download a pirated version of the game.

I download the addons from other sites then put them inside the "addons" but still no. I try to restart the game too but it didnt help at all

Do u have a pirated ver of gmod or your downloading an addon thats not available in the workshop.

well ı download gmod from steam unlocked and some of the addons are not available at workshop (Im new to the program btw)

Just search it on yt it will be easier there. And steam unlocked still counts as piracy. I could link a vid but idk if its allowed to help pirated gmoders or i can get banned for it.

Addons downloaded outside of Steam's Workshop for Garry's mod don't install to the addons folder, if I recall correctly they have a more specific (and complicated) route of installing them which should be included from wherever they are downloaded.

However, It's not exactly a smart idea to pirate a game and then ask for help on the game's community discussions, if you didn't pay for it, it's pirated.
