no, I believe that they will keep Garry’s mod. But not update it. OR if S&box fails, then they start updating gmod. OR update both Garry’s mod, rust and s&box

even if s&ndbox takes over I doubt that the creators would ever get rid of it as they are people as well and should know what the community has done, so it probably aint going anywhere

Oh and not to mention that i've stopped playing back in May 2019 because of the Privacy Policy Update, distancing from being Laissez-Faire

It's true though that laissez-faire is generally the best in many regards... Funny though how all the gambling servers populated with redditors don't get banned hmm

The game right now is stagnating. It's in a similar state of decaying as tf2 community servers although that one's on valve for making meet your match and not pulling reverse on it. It's still clinging on and won't die for some time, but it would need an influx of players; and not the kind of players that play RP servers; and i don't see how that can happen. The trashy RP servers are still going strong though, constantly closing and reopening, adding gambling and P2W, or at best banning you for having fun. That too is stagnating and i don't see it changing much, except for the former if facepunch finally decides to do some (good) moderation. It's funny how their stupid "rating" arbitrary system gives 3 bar to a perfectely fine sandbox server, but 5 bar to a gambling avenue. And of course by default the server are sorted by "rating". Good job facepunch.
Really, the game is in a sad state. Honestly, even tf2 community servers are in a better state, you can find what you want. In gmod now, you have trouble doing exactly that. And 60 % of the servers are cringe too that doesn't help.

If this were to happen, Hopefully GMod won't be sold to some other rich corporate and then you're required to have some other account linked that would cause the whole gmod community to collapse because they did something similar to Guilded forcing Roblox accounts.

Well ever since I've seen this game in 2014 or 2015 as a kid, I've been wanting to play it, and in December 2023 I've finally bought it and played it, but now to this day I no longer find joy in it thanks to the fact that it's been mostly ruined in my honest opinion, so I really just avoid playing this game and move on with other games I like more.

There was a time where i just quit gmod for a solid 9 months or so...
Reason? Well i thought this game was pretty much about fighting enemies and all that.

And in late 2023 i finally found joy in this game, and ever since then i've been playing every month! Honestly my advice is to look back on the old days.
Since you've seen this game as a kid in 2014 and 2015. I'd recommend just doing something similar to that, it may seem weird, but it works.
