There are paid mods? You sure it's not a scam site posing as Facepunch property?
have you been on any rp server with non-simpys cars? ♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with the menu and gotten to that screen showing the name of the base addon and some dlc packages? saw the price tag, thought it was joking?
yea that was uh
not a joke.
Beatrun, Vehicle Mod, and an alarming amount of addons using the wOS Base have most - if not all - of their content locked behind a paywall, and that's just to name a few.
I'm in agreement with OP; if you want to make profit off of the Workshop, stick to either advertising Patreon/KoFi links, or doing commissions for 3D models/model ports. (Though the latter may be slightly more controversial as of late.)
Nobody is discrediting these peoples' coding skills, of course - again, something like Beatrun was impressive in of itself - but very few people would ever/will ever willingly pay for a mod made for a 20 year old game.
This includes many other gamemodes. A lot of server hoster buys those add-ons.
Garry is, as always silent about this.
The DarkRP gamemode itself is also a paid mod, the one on the workshop is just a half baked free version without any feature.
