I just installed gmod after an 2 year break and haven´t touched the workshop yet , so i guess is probably some addon that got hijacked to make people fear downloading stuff from the workshop.
So far nobody has mentioned any case of their pcs getting invaded by this addon , aside from you.
Okay, in either case, how do I get rid of it?
Will that erase everything?
You really should not have done that btw. Neither is the "cleanupgmas" command safe.
Instead the solution to this is to go to either `steamapps\workshop\content\4000`
or sometimes it may be in
`steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\cache\workshop`
for some reason due to a recent bug introduced in the x86 branch.
And decompress the GMA file into it's own folder in `steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\addons`
you can use the gmad .exe extractor in Garry'sMod\bin to do this but generally recommended to use the third party program 'Crowbar' for alot more options.
