No it's not a Virus.
And yes Virus does have to steal data or put random softwares to your PC and executing random commands to count as Virus.

Only thing lua code can do is just put screamer on your screen or play ads or put you in random servers.
It is limited while Virus and Trojan can easily detroy your computer and it is hard to get rid of.

You can just unsub from the mod tho.

it happen only one time that there was a confirmed virus on a addon and the person did the virus got totally banned from steam so don't worry

Also, if you put ugly screamers/ad/any kind of malicious code. Your addon will get removed, your steam account will probably locked or deleted. OR minimum punishment is your account will never be able to upload anything to the workshop ever again.

correct, also imma post the definition of malware here because these trolls seem to ignore it, which is just dangerous

software that is specifically designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to a computer system.

make a note on "disrupt" which the screamers etc. are DESIGNED to do as described above, if these things were BANNED immediately the moment they pop up, we wouldn't have these reports in the first place, they shouldn't have to stay up for so long that ppl click on it and compromise themselves

what makes the whole situation worse is that these trolls try to defend malware so much, that they would report you in an attempt to ban you if you try to educate ppl properly, which honestly needs to stop as its so damn immature

like, im not even trying tell anyone how to f*cking hack or anything because thats a stupid thing to do, all im doing is educating ppl so they won't be easily mislead by the flood of misinformation

apoligies if i've alarmed you or anyone else, but thats how the situation is atm, you could try and play but the risk is not worth it in my opinion, or you could find a list of the offending mods and report them, as well as not play with those mods
