It's not pathetic, it's not even a thing.

If you knew even the slightest bit of Gmod history, you'd know JBmod was what gave garry the inspiration to make Gmod.
Also, the "JB" behind JBmod wasn't involved in the mod beyond the earliest parts. The tacky website, subsequent updates, the "jokes" were all done by the group of people who took over updating the mod. JB himself was a young, rookie coder who was concerned about his effort going to waste if Valve decided they didn't like how he was using their IP.
