It doesn't sound like skidding to me, and I've never heard this sound played in-game, it's just unnerving to me, also the fact that there's already another file named tire/skid.wav that plays when a car is skidding, this one goes unused.

Maybe it's an unused file from HL2.

because I just thought it was unnerving and maybe someone could tell me if its used anywhere or if theres anything about it im missing, its just for a second opinion

no, I looked in the game files and couldn’t find skidding.wav, the closest sound that was similar to skidding.wav was something from the horror(any number).wav

I have that in my game files for a while too might be from Scars

If you turn the playback speed to 0.25 it sounds like the HL2 zombie screams
