Who else remembers Gordon Frohman?

For those who don't know, Gordon Frohman was the titular character of the internet comic "Concerned". It was a self referential comedy series that ran from May 2005 to November 2006, starring 'Gordon Frohman', the not so bright number 1 fan of the combine with an uncanny resemblance to Gordon Freeman, so by sheer coincidence (and stupidity) he roughly follows the events of the game before the game canonically even begins, that is until the actual Gordon Freeman eventually shows up later in the comic. Then a hilariously one sided conflict ensues of Gordon Frohman attempting to thwart Freeman, who remains entirely oblivious to and is otherwise unaffected by Frohman the entire time.

Until the conclusion of the comic, I believe it uploaded at least once a week. I remember really liking the website (which is still up btw), as the creator usually had a rather sizeable collection of notes alongside each comic page, often detailing how he made things, or just general thoughts about the game series in general.

I ask this because it was what got me into Garrysmod back in 2005 with Gmod 8, the notes I mentioned before actually helped me learn how to play gmod as well as little ways the the source engine made things work. This was before steam guides or plethoras of random tutorials on the internet to help. Even Youtube as a website was just being created not a few months prior.

I rarely see any mention of the Character or the associated comic on the internet, except the occasional mention in a deep dive type video. I searched the steam forums for gmod for the term "Frohman" and got only 4 results across the entire board. I'm just curious how many people remember this seemingly forgotten piece of Gmod's earliest history.

Sadly, as much as I have been playing Garry's Mod, I have never read this comic.

Huh, I never knew it had a wikipedia article. Nice.

I started re-reading it in depth just now. Overall, If you like Half life 2 and early/mid-2000's internet humor, I would suggest giving it a quick look. It's very much a time capsule on how the internet was way back in it's early days, it has a very distinct feel, something I've seen on other mid-2000's internet comics, but nowhere else.

i found frohman's ModDB account once. He doesn't seem to be active nowadays sadly
