I tried playing the closure in gmod and the cutscenes dont work right
I found the episode patches on the workshop can also be needed, as addons... but it's kinda all over the place... what I do know is that i need to re-install from scratch and re-add mods in to fix certain problems and couldn't tell you why exactly (ie also delete the gmod folder).
Any workshop mods you have that mess with animations can come back to haunt you as well.
scene_flush seems to be a valuable command as well if your still having issues with cutscenes and whatnot... though I never got the ep2 advisor scene to not break the game regardless of all this, as your stuck with the FOV zoom and inability to shoot...0
They talk about these issues in passing on the valve dev wiki and gmod wiki, but nothing in specifics and you kinda have to make your own conclusions from the passing discussions*.
But yhea, I've pretty much perfected my gameplay outta gmod and it took months of messin with things, re-positioning model bones and fixing missing reqs (lotta things that in all fairness were not reqs for smooth play on older builds). So the idea of playing sourcemods... specially hl2 mods with generic hl2 gameplay as opposed to what I spent way to much time getting way too good to look back on... specially when it's so close to being possible save for a few things I just don't know how to do or that I need to do... just makes it worse and definitely puts them in the maybe some other time when I can category.
Specially when you have a game mod like G-string that has so much going for it but where it lacks, can be so easily fixed with even base addons without any tweaking.
*(ie why episode 1 and 2 corrupt on saves if using the 64 bit version of gmod... cause the vphysics are incompatible... info that would be nice somewhere... and not something having to have pieced together from a seemingly random conversation on a wiki that had no conclusions... gotta love modern internet... troubleshooting... and software development...
Suppose it's just easier to say 'stability' might be an issue with this version... maybe don't bother asking why or what or any details or context...)
