Okay so lately people have been experiencing the same phenomenon in Gmod. People are claiming that they have seen a black figure lurking around in their gmod server. There's a video that mentions this thing but it doesn't go too far deep into it.

This video also talks about a mysterious entity, or black figure, hiding within the rp_downtown v2 map, though the original idea claimed that the map was haunted.

It's all fake. That iceberg is very interesting, it seems to say there are Russian creepypastas similar to the black figure but called Meaty.

It's kinda hard to talk about it when nobody has the means to believe you. I already know that the black figure videos are fake, but they could be based real events. I'm not sure I should feel, because do I really need somebody to believe me when I know it's real? I've experienced it myself, I know what's real. But even then, this is something that shouldn't be here, and the fact that it's literally happening gives me this uneasy feeling.

I know the videos are fake, what I'm saying is that they could be based on real events. Even if they're not, it's still a coincidence. This is something I don't expect most people to believe, but If I could beg and make you believe me I would.

Anyone could spawn anything, but that doesn't mean they did. This was not meant to be a creepypasta, just a wiki about an mysterious entity that exists within gmod. I don't know what to tell you man but this ♥♥♥♥ actually happened and it was creepy. You can't understand how this feels, literally just thinking about it spooks me out. I feel like my computer is haunted or something, but I hope to god it isn't.

So this might be what the GMod rumor is based off.

The rumor itself is based on real gmod experiences where players would encounter a black statue resembling Gordon Freeman. Some encounters are fake but the rumor itself is actually real.

I saw something black in the corner of my eye when playing gm_construct but it's probably me just seeing things :P
Also yeah i did see a figure but that's normal to me cause it was happening before irl so
