However: Half-Life 1 textures can be easily used in the Source engine if you want to. There are very many tutorials on how to create Half-Life 2 maps. Garry's Mod was created as a modification of half-life 2.

I mean how do I use Half-Life 1 source for Gmod Hammer, or which source has Half-Life 1 textures. Because I have Half-Life 1 and I use J.A.C.K to use it (not hammer). So what I'm asking is how to make maps for Gmod using Half-Life 1 textures or HL:Source textures.
I have Half-Life Source, just I dont know how to use it on hammer.
This is what I do
1. Goto gmod, go to bin
2. open hammer
3. Texture format and map type both on Half-Life 2
4. I switch texture formad to WAD3 (HALF-LIFE / TFC)
5. Every texture is blank (white)
6. I switch map type to WAD3 (Half life / tfc) and then the textures are blank
7. I look up "How to use half-life source on gmod hammer, no useful information pulls up
8. I have exactly no clue waht to do
You do not switch to WAD at all. Half-Life Source uses HL2 texture format.
Hmm, when I type "door" into the textures it only pulls up HL2 doors, not HL1. Or vnt no vents pull up. Do I need to mount HL:S on hammer? Because on GMOD HL:S is mounted and installed.
func_door and func_door_rotating are what you want for HL1-based maps. Also, I think most hl1 vent textures fall under "duct"
No, no, no. What I mean is not func_door on crtl + T I mean in textures, I dont see any HL:Source textures, only HL2 textures.
Also by mounted on gmod, I mean I went ingame and checked the box to HL:S.
If you really wanna use gmod hammer, you could just rip HLS's textures from its vpks and drop them into GMod's folders.
Well the only videos I've seen are gmod hammer, so if I were to put HL:S textures into gmod folder would it even work for friends that have Half-Life Source?
