Strange NPC Voice Glitch?

hi all. I'm experiencing a strange glitch on my server and have no idea where to begin looking for the cause. it isn't game breaking, or urgent, just strange.

many npcs are playing the wrong sound files when they speak. this only happens to me on my server. it does not happen in singleplayer mode (everything's normal there) and other people on my server hear the normal lines. it only seems to affect me. in addition, not all npcs have this problem. some will play the correct lines, other will play incorrect ones seemingly at random.

i've removed all mods, and still have the issue. redownloaded, still had the issue. short of rebuilding the server from scratch i really don't know where to begin investigating this. to be honest, i'm just really curious as to what's going on?

it isnt only source models that are culprits of the glitch, they are just the worst offenders and the first i noticed. for example, my various modded npcs that use combine lines when hostile will sound like the vox instead. i wonder if its specifically npcs that pick lines at random from a pool?

any thoughts would be appreciated to help me solve this

this happened to my friend today for some reason, but it isnt happening to me. its a problem with gmod itself since the game updated a few hours ago, you should report this to them
