Gmod lagging and isnt using under 20% of my pc

I have a good pc but when I play garry's mod I get ♥♥♥♥ fps and when I check my cpu and gpu usage its only using like 10-20% of my cpu and gpu?

Ryzen 5 1600, Vega 56, 16gb of ddr4 ram, according to my performance monitoring software its says only like 10% of my PC is being used and for what ever reason it what use all my PC

I'm pretty sure gmod (and most source games for that matter) use like 1 - 2 cores in your system, not all of them. So even if usage is low, it may be maxing out a core far beyond what it needs to

I honestly have no clue though.

There's always a possibility he enabled the option for gmod to utilize all cores

yes it is, type in the console gmod_mcore_test 1 if you have a multicore cpu you'll run it much better, the only problem is you'll have to type that into the console everytime you get in the game, but if you know your way around the files you can have so it stays permanent
