Explosion props?

So, I've been practicing wallpaper-making in gmod. Most of my artwork is about WWII, however, I have a difficulty whenever I want to add explosions to my screenshots.... effects tend to change shape a lot making them impossible to capture them properly and cause lag when I add too many of them.
I've tried making explosions with the Ry-Gu's (or something like that) muzzle flash, but these won't work with airplanes going down.
All I want to know is where I can find some good explosion/smoke traces(or trails) for wwii wallpapers.

I mean man, All you really have to do is find a realistic explosion mod, toss a grenade and spam your mouse button. Look through the screenshots after wards and see the result. If that doesn't work and you want the explosion to be in the air, weld a gbomb in the air to the ground along with a piece of dynamite, Make sure that when the dynamite explodes that it disappears, That is a setting you can uncheck in the q menu. It should create a pretty nice explosion.

They had to of did some intense searching because at least for me page 59 is as far back as it lets me go on the general discussions page and as far back as it goes is Feb 18 of this year.
