"I can supposedly do whatever I want" - Dumbass.
It has a good online mode. Everyone except you thinks it has a good online mode. You are delusional. Good luck in life.
It'll be fun trying to do tho.
You can do it if you want, Im probably not gonna fund it tho because i have minecraft
Also so he thinks this game is trash because if he wants to be able to play/make a different game he has to know something about programming? Seriously tho, why not just play TF2/Paladins/CSGO/Some other free to play FPS game if he doesnt wanna buy Overwatch?
Servers usually have rules, but you have to bother to read them. There's a page that usually opens up when you join a server with the rules on it. if not, usually you can type /rules in chat to get them. And if not, ask. Don't complain that it's not obvious, because asking "what are the rules" is the most obvious thing to do ever.
Yes, some servers/mods require Counter-Strike: Source. But like they said, you can download the content for free if you Google it. But I recommend buying it when you have a chance, because it's a great game.
About Overwatch: the thing is, that GMod can be any game... in different degrees. Some games, Garry's Mod can be almost completely (meaning levels, weapons and enemies). Minecraft, Team Fortress 2, Doom 3, Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Counter-Strike are some of those games. Overwatch is not one of those games, as it's limited (for now) to Overwatch bots. You asked if you could play deathmatch with Overwatch bots, and once again, yes you can do exactly that. Just not with Overwatch weapons in an Overwatch level.
About "nothing to do in single-player": first off, I've never cared much for building stuff either. I also think it's boring. However, you can do anything else you want if you look on the Workshop for just a minute. You can find tons of awesome maps (including some by me) to explore; you can find adventure or horror maps with traps and dangers; you can find tons of funny enemies and fun weapons to create massive battlefields that you blow up with a nuclear missile. You can download any car, real or not, and find a big map and just make a race. Go on the Workshop, sort by "Most Popular" or "Most Subscribed of All Times" and see if there's something you like. And there will be.
About "having to learn programming to play", it's non-sense. You can make yourself into a popular modder (like me) if you learn how to make mods for the Workshop, but obviously it's not necessary. Enjoying the mods of other people is more than enough, without any doubt!
I sincerely hope this helps.
