The Portal gun from "Portal 1 & 2"
I just bought Portal 1 not 2 and the gun is outstanding fun to play with. And i saw i could check that in Gmod that i have Portal installed, but i cant find the gun in the sandbox mode.

Yeah, sorry bud, thats a Portal thing, Gmod is in Half Life 2's engine, not Portal's. There are some mods though...

half life 2 and portal use the same engine

Yes, the Source Engine, but Portal has a unique kind, it allows the special features, such as the portal effect, Hand Held Aperture Science Portal Device and the Goo. Every Valve game has a modified version of the Source engine.

The engine is the same, they didn’t change it for portal, they added code to make portal but didn’t change the engine, you could even spawn in the weapons from hl2 in portal.

Yeah, this is what I mean. Their still the Source engine, but every game has it's special changes. Gmod is on Half Life 2's version, no changes.

Gmod allows you to use assets from portal, you just can’t get a portal gun.

Yeah, that's probably because Gmod doesn't have the extra code, their just models.

I already found that mod and it works kind of great, some small glitch and bugs.
