How do I pose a NPC?

I know, we can pose ragdolls, but if we are making a video where we want the ragdoll to have a pose and then shoot it, ragdolls are fixed in that pose. But when we shoot a NPC it falls, the only thing is that NPCs don't pose. They stand still... Ragdoll's limbs would be fixed at a place so shooting them won't make them fall on the ground...
