yep. Its UNFAIR and PAY TO WIN
GOAT Rank:
£1,000,000 in-game cash
7000 tickets
Access to ALL printer upgrades
30 more props
Access to ALL jobs (Freerunner, Master Thief, SWAT Sniper, Heavy Gun Dealer, Advanced Hitman, Juggernaut, Jedi, Master Grower)
Epic knife
G36C (Permanent)
and i actually played one of fudgys servers on darkrp and they
have a lot of expensive stuff on their server but it's not horrible
pay-to-win means you can *pay* for an *advantage*
https://acnetworks.mistforums.com/donate
clearly your server is pay-to-win because you can *pay* for in-game *money* and *jobs* that you intentionally paywalled off from normal players
"$500,000 in-game cash
Access to all Vip and Vip+ jobs on our server"
People aren't dumb, mate.
buying a rank on their server gives you an advantage.
therefore the server is pay to win.
and there's a good bit of players who enjoy having vip ranks and jobs so just because you dislike servers that have vip options doesn't mean others dont.
I would also like to point out plenty of games have "pay to win"
any game with a membership is pay to win, any game that includes extra dlc, maps or weapons, cars etc is pay to win. So having a vip rank to help support a server staying alive is nowhere as close to a game like World of Warcraft or another online game having a membership that allows players to advance is.
Everyone should dislike unfair servers that paywall "jobs" or anything. Its literally unfair? Unfair usually means unfun.
Just because Capitalism is the norm doesn't make Capitalism the right system. Under this argument you'd point out 200 years ago that plenty of Nations are Feudal Monarchies.
DLC that doesn't give you an advantage in gameplay, isn't pay to win, its just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ paywall. You can create paywalls in such a way that they *are* pay to win, such as but not limited to
- having a gun on a server that is only obtainable through a paid rank
- having a gun on a server that is extremely expensive but is free with a paid rank
Good servers don't need outside finances to run. Good servers aren't rented from some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ website with overpriced monthly rates. I personally ran my own server franchise of over 8 servers including a MySQL server for over two years without any donations (because I refused donations). It costs no money to run servers. There is no necessary "support" to keep a server "alive".
This is just a blatant Capitalist lie. Most of the money made off servers is pocketed by the server owner and doesn't even get re-invested back into the server. Most servers are made purely to make profit like this, and the profit motive is awful.
All that's matters is the profit-motive. Nothing else matters. It doesn't matter if players have fun, or if your server even has players at all. If a Capitalists server makes profit, then it is considered "successful".
And that's the catch to "successful" servers. They don't have to be genuinely fun or bring anything game-breaking or even appease their players. They just want/have to make profit.
name one
I like DarkRP as a gamemode. ALL servers suffer P2W problems. Its just DarkRP is a more long-term gamemode and so it usually has paid advantages. Compared to TTT, where its short rounds that mean nothing after each match.
