Optimization help
I have a kind of good computer (But not really) and was wondering, what are some settings that will help, and what console commands might help?

Depends. Turning your texture, model, and shader's detail down some and anti-aliasing might boost FPS.

Unless I'm unaware of something, I don't think you can do much in terms of making the game run better with console commands.

Well i heard of the "r_3dsky 0" command that disables the 3D sky on your map (the edge of the world that might have mountains or buildings for looks)
but thanks!

Posting specs would help.

8GB RAM
Intel - Core i3 2.93GHz
Nvidia GeForce 310 (512MB)

Just the important stuff

Well what do you think about it? From a scale from potato to super computer.

. Enable multithreaded support, again not through the options menu, lower your resolution, raise game priority to Above Normal, use openGL mode (Source runs better on OpengL usually), lower graphical options

Command to get multithread (Enter this via your console, if it helps your performance add it to an autoexec.cfg file in your garrysmod/cfg directory)

gmod_mcore_test 1; mat_queue_mode -1; cl_threaded_bone_setup 1

Would setting the Gary's mod to "High" instaid of "above normal" cause problems at all?

That'll work fine, just don't go higher because then your GMod starts competing for resources with your system tasks, drivers, display managers, and more.

And also, is the multicore rendering in the video settings different from the multithread support? If so how is it?

The multicore setting in the video settings doesn't do anything, Garry removed that in 2013-2014.

Well super computer is a bit generous, on a scale 1/10 of average specs (i5/R5, GTX 1060/RX580, 8GB of ram) probably around a 3/10
