How do I install non-workshop GMOD addons?

If I downloaded models from outside the workshop, how would I go about installing them?

I have this same question and I did as the walkthrough said but it still won't let me spawn them in.

But anyway,just put the mod file in to the addons folder.

it wont be in the "addons" menu of your gmod spawnmenu, thats reserved for workshop addons. it should be in the one just below it or the one just below "games" titled "downloads"

thats of course if its just a model. if its a swep or entity then it should just be in their respective category
