Some of the following things helped some people though, and quite frankily helped me.
1- Audacity has not been updated in eons, so you might wanna use something else
2- If it's an mp3, try converting to a wav, or if its a wav, try converting it to mp3.
3- The ideal sample rate is 44100 HZ. 16-Bit just makes it more compatible ;).
4- If its really that much of a hassle the sound is not worth it
5- Try to NORMALISE the sound. It can help as well. Lowering the volume may help, too.
Have a nice day with
Note for step 5: Make a backup just in case. Normalising can really mess with some sounds.
Note for step 3: Sometimes the software messes with the sample rate for you because you are risking the quality of the sound ;)
