nice joke i said i upgraded my hardware and it should be enough to run 2-3 gmods at same time and it's annoying because you didn't even read what i wrote it doesn't matter how many cores your cpu has your fps will the same if you build many blocks (i guess you didn't even played gmod enough to mess with 100+ blocks house because everyone complain on forums - yeah 1k hours <.<)
gmod is very cpu intensive even though it did run better on 12 and under my old gtx 260 and what was it i3 2 core @2.66ghz ran it close to my 2 high end computers do now soooo yea <.<
the games low performance is due to:
#1: poorly optimized maps at least custom because most of them lack optimization like brushes cutting up the world refer to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrKjmqD8NlA for explination and refer to other video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swBfUW-Bsxs most custom maps lack any of these
#2: poorly coded addons and servers with too many of them
#3: servers with too high of a prop limit or allowing things such as dynamic light entities
#4: general poor coding of gmod 13
#5: source engine only using 1-2 cores for the love of god its 2014 it cant be that hard to mod source engine to run 4+ cores!!!!!!!! source 2 will probably use 4+ cores but it cant release soon enough with valve being lazy
#6: servers with bad hosts and bad lerp rates
i still cant say for certain what causes the stuttering becuase thats happened on 4 of my systems since gmod 11 the only real fix for lag is to get a 2 core and overclock it to 4-5ghz and apply liquid nitrogen or get people and garry to fix above issues
I've noticed that you're building stuff with the minecraft swep. Now, the source engine functions quite differently than minecraft does, and each of those blocks that you are placing is an entity with its own world model, with full collisions and everything. They are all completely rendering whenever you look at them, unlike in minecraft where it only renders exposed surfaces. So a 100 block house will have 100 props in a small area. Of course its gonna lag!
though i thought it was this year why does it matter? if you dont want it to be replied to why not delete this thead??? the points are still valid but i guess its a crime to spread knowledge hmmmm
year ago valve didn't aplied notification to your forum threads so how the hell i'd know that some jerk would come there after year and refresh my old trash topic, and who cares about source engine anymore? UE4 is MUCH better, cry engine is better, even unity is better and easier to use than dated and archaic source engine.
source engine is good because of the mods and gameplay but unfortunately it has some annoying issues that are holding it back which probably wont be fixed until source 2 if valve ever decides to finish it
and stop being such an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
