Finally found out what causes my strange massive FPS drop, help me figure out how to fix it kindly.

So i have been having problems with my FPS in Gmod for quite some time after 13 got released. I tested alot of different things until today i finally found out what was causing it. Holding weapons, any weapon i hold causes my FPS to go from 60 to 1-10. Why is this? i have tried with different weapons, add-on weapons, mounted weapons and even the original half-life 2 weapons and they all do the same thing.

Does anyone have an idea why this is happening? if feels like such a strange and specific problem.

*Reinstalled
*Check file integrity
*Disabled all mods

That i have yes, along with combinations of said things

I've been having fps problems too, but not as low as yours.
We can just hope and assume it's some sort of bug.

Until then, Gmod is pointless to me. I can't shoot any good movies this way. I have tried setting up a scene, dropping all weapons and let it play out... but its just so tedious.

I am also having this problem, did any one figure it out? My problem is slightly different, where as it only does this when I am on-line with one person, no weapons = 60 fps .. holding weapons around 10 frames per second. When he hosts a server, I get the bad frames, when I host a server, he gets the bad frames! But only holding weapons :(

I am really confused and quite frustrated now, and if someone could help that would be great!

The problem is that i have multiple CPU cores, but GMOD can not handle that.
To fix this open task manager while gmod is open, go to details, right click hl2.exe, click Set Affinity and uncheck all boxes except for one.

i have a similar problem but it isnt from the weapons or addons, the game just lags to ♥♥♥♥ for no reason randomly, so i get 60-50 to 10-1 fps
