Important Game File Locations
To help people looking for game fixes, and how to remove game crashing addons, I have compiled a list of important files and folders within the Gmod directory.

Notice: I am not a forum admin, or an admin of any kind, I am just trying to help.

CFG's:
Main cfg: C:\ProgramFiles\Steam\steamapps\Yourusernamehere\garrysmod\garrysmod\cfg
Use this to fix problems with screen resolution, and rebinding keys after "Unbindall"

Game cfg: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Yourusernamehere\garrysmod\garrysmod\cfg

Use this to adjust noclip speed, and enabling your flashlight.

Skill cfg: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Yourusernamehere\garrysmod\garrysmod\cfg

Use this to adjust NPC health.

Default Config: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Yourusernamehere\garrysmod\garrysmod\cfg

Replace this with your normal config to undo anything you can't fix.

Important folders:

Addons Folder: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Yourusernamehere\garrysmod\garrysmod\addons

Use this folder to delete addons that are breaking your game.

Backgrounds folder: C:\ProgramFiles\Steam\steamapps\Yourusernamehere\garrysmod\garrysmod\backgrounds

While this isn't needed for most bug fixes, deleting these will produce a blank page on the main menu. Adding things to this can also put new pictures for the main menu.

Gamemodes folder: C:\ProgramFiles\Steam\steamapps\Yourusernamehere\garrysmod\garrysmod\gamemodes

Use this to delete any gamemodes that are breaking your game. (I know, it's happened before.)

Lua Folder:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Yourusernamehere\garrysmod\garrysmod\lua

Use this to delete lua files that are corrupting your game, conflicting with other files, or to inject your own weapons.

Scripts Folder:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Yourusernamehere\garrysmod\garrysmod\scripts

Use this folder to insert or delete custom scripts. IE, regenerating health instantly.

Interesting things I have found:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Yourusernamehere\garrysmod\platform\cfg\headtrack\hmd

Some sort of oculus rift thing, if you know what it is, tell me.

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Yourusernamehere\garrysmod\garrysmod\toybox

The old toybox folder?
Seems to be some sort of Oculus Rift related folder. Check it out if you have one?

Disclaimer from this post:

THIS IS AN INCOMPLETE GUIDE. I DO NOT GUARENTEE ANY OF THESE FIXES WILL WORK. DELETE FILES AND FOLDERS AT YOUR OWN RISK. PLEASE POST IF YOU KNOW OF ANY OTHER LOCATIONS.

No problem. I'm updating it now.

Problems with add-ons (plugins)/Slowdowns when exiting Gmod in either regular GMOD or development beta GMOD::
If you are in the dev of gmod the add-ons (plugins) don't show and if they do from your saves. They show an error. Yet if you roll back and opt out of dev beta. Gmod shows the add-ons (plugins) but don't see your saves. Figures it's a 50/50 on these new updates. Hopefully they can fix it. :)

This might also help to know ->
There is also a slight slow down when exiting the gmod app in either beta or regular. I also noticed 1 file failed when switching between regular gmod and dev beta of gmod. (verify intergrity of files) Just noting it down so hopefully a moderator can see it.

I seen you are not sure what a " Oculus Rift ' is? It's a type of gear you wear on your head that you look through while playing TF2 and such. It has a head-tracking sensor that Garry has slowly implemented into GMOD like the Kinect bar from xbox 360 that tracks your body movment and view of distance is a bit greater than the regular view. You can find more info on this by following garry's blog off his site. Hope that helps with some confusion you had with the gear. Feel free to add me if you need more info. :)

I know what it is, I don't know what the files do. I have a pre-order for one. Haha!

As for the slowdown, it's a source engine error when exiting the game after disconnecting very recently. I'll go add you into the people who can edit this, if you want to put down that as a bug, though.

Never mind, it's not a guide.
