EDIT:Holy crap, this topic REFUSES TO DIE. Good news is that I now how to use the website to uninstall addons instead of using gmod to do it.[b/]

I would just liek to point out how big of a problem this is. My son is 5, and likes to install an insurmountable amount of mods no matter how much I tell him not to do it. I need to remove over 400 mods from gmod because he filled up his hard drive and his computer barely works.

Thanks Steam. Thanks for sucking ♥♥♥, again. I don't get why people complain about Origin, it works, its light weight, it doesn't update, EVERY, SINGLE, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DAY, it doesn't take 15 minutes to start up just to make me restart it because it wants to update and make me wait 15 minutes to start it again.

Screw steam, if I could use another provider I would, but of course I can't transfer my game list to a competitor...

Im pretty sure thats disable all addons, and I trust EaturBr4ins better. Just look at that grammar!

Right click Garry's Mod from the Steam menu, Click properties and then click the Updates tab. Then uncheck the box for Cloud Sync. Exit Steam and go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod and delete the addons folder.
You can also delete the downloads and materials folders to perform what is know as a total clean out.
After you restart Steam and launch Garry's Mod and load up the Sandbox map, you can re-enable cloud sync.

Btw just a note, disableing addons, dosent uninstall them. If you want to get rid of them locate your addons folder and send them to the recycle bin.

When I delete addons straight from the gmod folder, they reinstall because I subscribed to them

That's because you did not disable Cloud Sync. Follow my directions stated above. If you subscribed to content through the Workshop, you will have to unsubscribe to each individual item. But that is pretty easy to do from the Workshop, a whole lot easier and faster than the addons from the addons menu.

This did not work, it still reinstalled every single one of my 500 addons

Don't think you can unsubscribe all at once.
Taberone Jul 25, 2013 @ 4:38pm
And yet nobody thinks of adding it.
GirthQuake Jul 25, 2013 @ 4:39pm
sadly i just spent an hour un subscribing each and everyone of my addons, its not bad it just takes a long time and you need to be patient
Taberone Jul 25, 2013 @ 4:43pm
Every time I unsub/disable an addon, gmod freezes and stops responding for 3 minutes or more each time.

I can't find my C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod
