I can't play Singleplayer

(First off, I noticed since the last update, all my old maps from GM12 were slapped into my maps folder, and I can't get rid of them.) When I try to launch a singleplayer game, It takes about 10 minutes and then it just stops even attempting and gives no explanation as to why it simply stopped loading. Please help.

Um no... I go away from my computer to let it load and I come back I'm back at the main menu. It doesn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ load.

Open the console after that happens and try to find an error message, That will usually include the name of map or addon that causes the error.
As far as the old maps and other addons, disable cloud sync from the Garry's Mod Steam menu,(right click Garrry's Mod, click properties, click update and uncheck the box). Then delete those pesky out of date files.

I have the same problem as mentioned above, but I also cannot open up the console. I cant figure out which one of my old maps is creating the problem.

I have the same problem as mentioned above, but I also cannot open up the console. I cant figure out which one of my old maps is creating the problem.

I disabled the cloud thing, old maps are still there. I also have no idea where my Gmod files are, I forgot when the workshop was introduced. I think I'm just going to ask for my money back, or just stop playing Gmod. It's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded at this point it isn't even worth it.

Your addons are in this location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\ " your account name" \garrysmod\garrysmod\addons .
Maps are here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\"your account name" \garrysmod\garrysmod\maps.
Server downloads are here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\ "your account name" \garrysmod\garrysmod\downloads .
The quoted part that says "your account name" will be your Steam Account Name, without the quotation marks.

I don't have to wait ten minutes, but I still have the same problem.
It just starts telling me I have lua errors and then goes to the main menu.
Disabling my addons didn't work. Could just be the update to Garry's mod.

EDIT: Stay by your computer when you start playing, if it tells you that you have lua errors*, go to your addons folder (Steam\steamapps\*ACCOUNT NAME HERE*\garrysmod\garrysmod) and delete the stuff in your addons folder.
*If it doesn't, I don't know what to do.

Hey, if this helps (im having the same problem) i managed to open the conlse (dont ask how) the thing i see of most concern is LUA DIT IS DISABLED and im wondering if that has something to do with it. if it does, please respond and tell us how to fix this!! thanks.

i know what it is. it gmod 12 stuff that isnt working my wiremod for 12 did that when the update happened. delete the old mod files and your game will be fixed.

This has been happening to alot of people. (Including me), and most of this started when GM13 came out, so thats our explanantion
